Mahir Yassin was the director of Baghdad Airport’s communication department. He was kidnapped from the Masour district along with a colleague Mahmoud Hamad al-Zawbaie and driver Mahmoud al-Zawbaie on their way to work.

The bodies of all three men were discovered in a field, their hands tied.
