Ali Musluoglu (Muslu)

Ali Musluoglu is a 48-year-old businessman, a partner with his brother in a firm that specializes in transport and construction. He was apparently seized from his hotel in Baghdad. On May 24, Mr. Musluoglu called his brother in Turkey, informing his that he was being held and entrusting the care of his children to him. One of his captors then told the brother that Mr. Musluoglu would be killed unless Turks ended all commercial relationships for the U.S. forices. On June 8, a video showing Mr. Musluoglu with guns pointed at his head was released to Dubai Television. This is not the first time Mr. Musluoglu has found himself in jeopardy in Iraq. In June 2004, he, his driver and his interpreter came under fire from U.S. troops in Fallujah. The driver, Faysal Demir, was killed. Mr. Musluoglu is married with 7 children.
