Jeffrey Ake is a 47-year-old businessman from LaPorte, Indiana. He is the CEO of a liquid packaging equipment firm that he founded in 1995. Mr. Ake was seized while working in a water treatment plant near Baghdad. While a proof-of-life video was broadcast on Al-Jazeera on April 13, no group has officially claimed the abduction.
