Aban Elias is a 41-year-old Iraqi-American civil engineer. He returned to Baghdad with his parents after the end of major fighting to repair the family home and start a road repair and gravel business near Fallujah. He was kidnapped a month after his parents returned to Colorado.

On May 6, a video showing Mr. Elias blindfolded was aired on Al-Arabiya. While he stated on the tape that he was "working with the Pentagon", there is no evidence that such was the case. There has been no word of Mr. Elias since.

Mr. Elias is married with three children, aged 6, 4, and 1.
